Privacy Policy

Readscapes (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Readscapes mobile application. This policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our app.

• Account information: email address, username, and profile picture via Google Sign-In.
• Reading data: books, reading sessions, page counts, quiz responses, and streaks you log in the app.
• Device information: device type, operating system, and app version.
• Advertising data: see Section 4.

• To provide and improve the app (reading tracking, gamification, quizzes).
• To send push notifications if you opt in.
• To serve relevant advertisements to keep the app free.

We use Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may collect and use:

• Advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS)
• Device information and IP address
• App usage data
• Location data (coarse)

On iOS 14.5+, we request your permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt before accessing your advertising identifier. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Google’s use of advertising data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. To opt out of personalized ads, visit Google’s Ad Settings.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data with:

• Google (AdMob): for advertising as described above.
• Bugsnag: for crash reporting and error monitoring.
• Our backend API (api.readscapes.tech): to sync your reading data.

We do not share your data with any other third parties.

We retain your account and reading data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion by contacting us.

Our app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Depending on your location you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data. Contact us at the email below to exercise these rights.

If you are in the European Economic Area, we rely on your consent for advertising data collection. You will be shown a consent form on first launch. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

We may update this policy. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
